About Us

Bamboushay actually began it’s story as Bamboushay Pottery back in 2002. The original name Bamboushay comes from the island of Nevis where the owner has roots. His family tree has several potters in its history. A member of the family still runs a pottery in New Castle Village, on the island of Nevis to this day.

After several years of producing locally handmade pottery on Tortola, the owner decided to make his dream of creating a relaxing space where people can come together to enjoy good food, good music and local art, a reality. In 2011, Bamboushay expanded the business to include a restaurant and lounge on Waterfront Drive, a short walk from the Road Town Ferry Terminal.

Bamboushay’s decor is heavily influenced by local history, which is reflected in the interior and exterior of the building. Murals of The Wreck of the Rhone, of a Manatee (aka a Sea Cow) and of Old Main Street can be found throughout. The patio bar is even build is the shape of a boat hull.

Come enjoy a delicious meal on our outdoor patio. Tasty treats include fish, shrimp, chicken, and vegetarian options, varied daily to satisfy all of our guests. A great setting to celebrate any occasion. Come and enjoy great food, local live music and a cool drink with us!
